Air rifle hung up - diocesan class Cologne
In this year 2021-2022 the round competitions of the diocese take place. Cologne - LG. Group A was launched as a block competition. The reason for this are the shooting ranges of some brotherhoods in the diocese of Cologne that were damaged by the flood.
The first appointment will take place on November 12th, 2021 in Villip, further appointments will follow.
Since our team currently has no way of training on their own shooting range, we rely on friendly brotherhoods in order to be able to train. Thank you in advance for providing the shooting range.
Staffeltag in Villip am 12.11.2021
In the diocesan class A air rifle, the round competitions last took place in October 2020. Then came the second lockdown and thus complete standstill for sport shooting in the associations.
But not only Corona, but also the great flood in July of that year had put many fraternities in their club life and shooting.
In three of the four remaining brotherhoods (Fettehenne and Solingen had canceled) the shooting range and shooting range fell victim to the flood. Only Sankt Kunibertus Gymnich was spared. Euskirchen, Rheinbach and Meckenheim suffered total losses. In view of my own needs, training was hardly to be thought of. Affected shooters could, if they had the time and nerve, thankfully train with friends of their shooting brotherhoods.
So it came about that, after a year’s break, the four remaining rifle brotherhoods came together for a joint competition (relay day) in Villip for the first time. Sankt Sebastianus Villip, who had used the Corona time to convert their 10 air rifle ranges as well as the small bore and large caliber system to electronic systems, kindly made their sports facility available to us.
The results of this competition reflect the stresses and strains of the shooters and the lack of training. On average, the team results are 8 rings and more worse.
Three shooters finished the competition with 299 rings, including Thomas Pieper from St. Seb. Meckenheim. Ultimately, Rheinbach and Kunibertus Gymnich shared the points with 1188 rings each. Sebastianus Meckenheim came in third with 1185 rings. Euskirchen finished fourth with 1179 rings. Further Meckenheim results: Jutta Bosse 296 rings, Michael Hilbig and Ecki Haffner 295 rings each, Burghard Drobny 284 rings (not included in the rating).
The next season is planned for February 2022, then in Gymnich.
